Scout, Northeastern’s student-run design studio, hosts an annual design conference with speakers, workshops, and more. As a designer on the conference team, I worked with a team of designers, marketers, and developers to establish the theme and direction of the 2023 conference. I then worked with the rest of the design team to create the brand identity of Ignite. Finally, I helped implement the branding into digital and print materials to effectively market the conference and create the Ignite experience.
Ideation Process
After months of brainstorming through personality levers, research, and moodboards, we decided on the theme for this year’s conference. From there, we explored a wide range of directions for our branding until we landed on one that we felt best encapsulated “ignite.” We continued to make revisions until we came up with the finalized look and feel, which encapsulates the bold and energetic spirit of our conference.
Brandbook
Just like Interventions: Ignite, we went in a direction that was bold and playful. Our design strategy emphasizes that design involves both rules and rule-breaking.
Application
We created a series of wireframes ranging from lofi to hifi until we landed on our final designs. We thought through ways to use motion design to bring our branding to life on the website and worked closely with the web development team to communicate our vision.

Print Collateral
I was tasked with creating additional print collateral for our conference. This including marketing flyers customized for universities in the area and stickers and name badges to give to guests.
